Author: Anyone know how much it costs for teeth whitening?
It depends on where you go. But it’s still a lot cheaper than US. Dental work, in general, is much cheaper in Costa Rica. While the price is lower, the sanitary and quality standards are just as high. Many people from other countries travel to CR to have dental work. I have a friend (from US) who got extensive work done (several implants, lots of root canals and crowns). His US dentist quoted him $36,000. He paid $11,000 in CR, and that included the flight and the week-long stay.
In the US, teeth whitening by laser (ZOOM) costs anywhere from $400-800.
In Costa Rica, it costs under $250. You can get the regular (gel trays) teeth whitening for about $100. It’s $400-500 in the states.
You can look at the ads in the Tico Times (English newspaper in San Jose) for English-speaking dentist in San Jose.
I know of one place that has gotten good reviews. http://www.dentavac.com/cost/
I have never used them so I can’t comment about the quality of their work.

ANYWAY! I’m not sure how much it cost me to get my teeth whitened because a relative paid for it. I just recommend NOT going to the booths you find in places like malls to get them done. The sores I developed below my gums was because the solution was not rinsed properly or sat on the gums for too long before getting it rinsed. I personally don’t care, it’ll go away after a bit. I REALLY NEED MY ROOTS DONE. I know I’m getting them done on Monday, but I still hate looking in the mirror and seeing 1/2 dark hair against platinum. DRIVES. ME. INSANE.
